NYFS Sees Gina Carano in Real Life!

IMG_1044.JPG

(Photo stolen from Cagepotato…at least I didn’t jack the really good one)

When I woke up this morning, I had no idea whether or not I was going to attend today’s “Carano vs Cyborg” Strikeforce “presser” (as The Fight Nerd would say).

I mean, what’s the point of these things? No one’s going to reveal anything we don’t all already know and the media is just going to ask the girls pointless questions such as, “Why do you think you’re going to win?” or “Are you worried about her takedowns?” Does anyone really care for the answers?

Regardless…2:00 rolled around, I work downtown, and my boss is on vacation…so I headed to MSG and I’m glad I did. Mainly because I got to sit pretty close to the stage and got a good, long look at Gina who is RETARDEDLY HOT in real life. Hot and humble and I totally dug her story about something that involved her drinking Old English 40’s…I wasn’t really listening…

I have to admit that I also got a little kick from seeing all the other NY-based MMA bloggers that I know (or know of) all in one place. I’ve been pretty down on my site lately and I think I needed to be reminded that I am a part of something (sorry for being gay…I saw Bruno tonight).

For Whom The Jingle Bell Tolls

The dead and myself have been working diligently down here in the “South
Pole” on this year’s X-Mas(sacre) List. It is nearly complete (I’ve been a
little sluggish lately..all this fucking food! Newborns are harder to digest
than one might expect). Here’s a snippet of what I’ll be bringing everyone (in no particular
order…CHAOS!!!):

Fedor: A renewal of the invincibility powers I bestowed upon him in
exchange for his soul many years ago.

Andrei Arlovsky: The illusion of a chance at beating Fedor, followed by
severe disappointment.

Tim Sylvia: A selection of assorted pee-pees for the tasting.

Matt Serra: The opportunity to kick bible-toting Matt Hughes’ Midwestern
ass on behalf of NY and Italian-Americans everywhere. Look for the State to
lift the ban on MMA in NY within the next few months, thereby allowing this
fight to happen at the Garden. In the alternative, expect State Senate and
Assembly members to die a fiery-death!

Alistair Overeem: Kneepads.

CroCop: A fancy pen for his impending retirement.

UFC: What do you get for the company that has everything?

Wanderlei Silva: A win against Rampage (but does he really need assistance
from me?) followed by a shot a UFC LHW Champ Rashad Evans (there I go
letting mortals in on the future again).

Big Nog: The full support of Hades in his run for the “official” UFC HW
title. He’s a good shit, that one.

Frank Mir: The word “ASSHOLE” tattooed on his forehead.

Frank Shamrock: Invisible braces.

Tito Ortiz: A clue.

Anderson Silva: A challenge (NOTE TO JOE SILVA: Thales Leites is not a
challenge).

Keith Jardine: Good advice: don’t take the rematch with Liddell. You
already have the W on your resume.

Bas Ruten: A new job…you’re ruining Inside MMA for me.

Phillipe Nover: Takedown defense (in the hopes that he may still one day
prove himself to be the savior of NY MMA).

Badr Hari: A K-1 Rulebook.

Gina Carano: A video camera on which to record a high-quality homemade
porno to be leaked on the internet.

US Fight Fans: A good, non-streaming, method of watching Fields Dynamite
on New Years Eve (should be one HELL of a show [evil laugh]).

Now remember kiddies, if you hear someone rummaging through your house on
Christmas Eve…you should stay in your  beds or I’ll chop your fucking
heads off with a butcher knife, string them together and make myself a giant
child-head cock-ring!!!

Scott Smith Saves Strikeforce from Total “Destruction”

Despite the valiant efforts of Strikeforce to put together what appeared to be a great main card on paper (featuring Kim Couture, Luke Stewart, Joe Riggs, Duane Ludwig, Yves Edwards, Renato Sobral, Bobby Southworth, Terry Martin and Scott Smith), “Destruction” could have been title “Disappointment”.

Mrs. Randy looked relatively sloppy (in comparison to Gina Carano, Chris Cyborg and other real-deal female fighters) in her demolition of a nobody who looked to have been pulled off the street and offered a couple of bucks to take a beating. I don’t see Dana Dane inviting her over to the WEC anytime soon.

“Diesel” finished off Stewart with a TKO in an otherwise lackluster bout (although I enjoyed checking out Luke’s impressive tattoo collection).

“Bang” defeated Edwards via unanimous decision, which was total bullshit. Edwards did his best to keep the fight on the ground and ensure that there be no excitement whatsoever involved in this bout. Despite the fact that such fighting style totally blows for the fans in attendance and at home, Edwards definitely deserved the W.

In big news, “Babalu” is the new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champ (his first title from a major promotion)! I have mixed feelings on this one. The fight was won due to a fucking canyon (one of the nastiest cuts I’ve ever seen) Sobral opened up over Bobby’s right eye with a good elbow. Other than that one shot, the match looked like it could have gone either way. I think Southworth deserves an immediate rematch (sorry James).

In the main event (good move positioning this fight last), Scott Smith totally saved the day and the entire show by knocking Terry Martin the freak out (that one’s for you Josh). You could produce and sell an entire DVD of all of the great KOs Martin has suffered over the years. Dude totally collapses…its awesome! Big Scott Smith fan.

PS: I realize that this article has nothing to do with the New York Fight Scene, but I felt like writing something, so I did. What are you gonna do about it!? That’s what I thought.
